Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the Global Sales and After Sales Team to provide technical support for converting User Requirements to Sales Quote.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent multi-tasking and time management skills with proven ability to work to deadlines.

  • Act as final approver of product design specifications (e.g. Tick sheets) for project to ensure they align with sales quotation and comply with applicable regulations.

  • Lead the root cause analysis of major technical incidents and product failures, and implementation of CAPA.

  • Act as primary Focal Point for Technical discussion with External Customers until issue is resolved for all impacted customers.

  • Provides input to the internal Change Control Process and support Project Manager in the Customer Change Requests.

  • Create and maintain standard design options and sales costing sheet for designated GEA equipment.

  • Ensures standard design options and customer-specific solutions are controlled to meet local regulatory requirements.

  • Develop novel and optimal solutions for the Research and Development Team to meet market requirements and to add unique selling points to current range to set GEA as market leader.

  • Signatory for ATEX & Machinery Directive Declaration following completion of equipment build & associated Technical File by Project Manager.

  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvements in technical tools, standards, and procedures.

  • Willingness to travel within UK and internationally for short term assignments.

  • Ensuring Application of Best Working Practices & Standards and encouraging a culture of continuous Improvement and Lean Initiatives, including

    • Organising non-project Engineering Design Reviews (PDR and CDR) as defined in the Life Cycle Management Process Standard and as required by the Customer, including adequate follow-ups.

    • Development or Initiation of new and improved best Practices and Working Standards.

    • Contributing to establishing Knowledge and Experience (Knowledge Management, Tool and Process Enhancements and Lessons Learned) for the Function.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or any related technological science, preferably in the field of process/Mechanical/chemical engineering

  • Understanding of motors, gearboxes and pumps.

  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques and associated quality systems.

  • Strong business and commercial Savviness. Sees new Opportunities to win (new) Business and to reduce or avoid costs.

  • Experience with (complex) engineering projects; has led teams (delivery through people without direct hierarchical authority).

  • Previously held (internal) technical approval authority (i.e., is recognised as having appropriate technical seniority for Design or Analysis).

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience gained within an engineering discipline, ideally within a Pharma/Chemical Engineering environment and in multi-disciplinary engineering project teams (Design/CM, Analysis, M&P, Manufacturing/ Industrialisation).

  • Experience in dealing with related functions (Operations/Production, Sales/Customer Relationship Management, Supplier Management and Development).

  • Management of complex Projects; ability to rationalise, assess and evaluate information that may not always be clear or mature.

  • Able to define challenging objectives and achieve them

  • Strong Leadership and change competencies.

  • Having worked in multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary teams in an international setting.

  • Experience with developing and coaching people.

  • Ability to mentor and coach product specialists in the Delivery of their specific task and supporting their professional Growth
