Offered is an internship in which you will be part of a small and worldwide operating team, who will give you freedom towards pursuing your academic goals under the umbrella of a global market leading company.

Where will you work?

The location for the position is in Drunen, The Netherlands. Here you can find one of the nine Wartsila Land and Sea Academies (WLSA).

Competence and learning are key to success in any business. What will you be doing?

Upon starting your internship, you will first familiarize yourself with the inner and outer workings of our academy and the people working in it. You will be working full time in our office next to the academy to get to know the people and way of working. After you have completed your 'introductory' weeks, there are options to work partially at our office and partially remote.

You will be part of the Customer Training team, consisting of 3 customer training managers, covering the globe. You will be reporting to the General Manager Customer Training in The Netherlands. In addition, there is a strong collaboration with all the teams of Wärtsilä Land & Sea Academy in all 9 locations.

  • Communicating with the different academies and other stakeholders around the globe.

To fulfil the requirements set by your University of Applied Sciences, we challenge you to come up with specific topics that cover areas like sales, marketing, change management, communication etc. The topic for your (graduation) thesis will be defined together with you.

When will you shine in this role?

  • A positive, flexible, and pro-active attitude
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Customer focus
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written. Understanding Dutch language is useful while working in the office.
