Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is developing the Product Management function by strenghtening the ownership and management for the portfolio products.

We are also increasing the support for the product lifecycle by developing our data and document management systems to ensure availability of information for all functions from sales to services.

 

Work location: We are evaluating several locations depending on applicants and competence.

 

We are now recruiting for Product owners for VOC (Volatile organic compound) Procucts

 

"If you are a Process Engineer with a background from simulation on Oil Processing on FPSO’s, FSO’s and/or shuttle tankers and have experience using e.g. Petroleum / Oil Manager

in Aspentech or similar software you might very well be the right candidate so do not hesitate to apply for the position”

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and optimise the product portfolio

  • Alignment between product families and technical disciplines: interfaces, capacities, functionality and best engineering practice

  • Evaluate change requests, feedback & lessons learned, understand the cost impact and assign actions to develop and implement needed change

  • Responsibility of portfolio design packages including process description, risk analysis and risk assessments

  • Manage the Product Portfolio (incl. Technical maturity risk). Evaluate the products and initiate development projects as well as phase out needs for old products.

  • Product launch, deliver technical content for sales & marketing, provide training and define value propositions to customers together with Sales Manager

  • Receive Conceptual Solution Spec from Sales Manager/Solution Development for specific technical challenges & take part in BID-approval meetings

  • Take part in meetings with customers for escalated technical questions out of scope for Solution Development function.

  • Support projects with technical questions and take part in technical kick-off meeting with PM, especially when there are reported deviations 

  • Support sourcing with component criticality rating against suppliers

  • Support in troubleshooting during installation & commissioning

  • Support Services with technical questions

  • Participate in development of tools and processes needed for Technology Development and Product Portfolio Management.

  • Support the Technology Development to Market process

  • Responsibility on engineering-BOM to SAP for standard products

 

Accountabilities:

  • Strategy and development, objectives and actions connected to the Product in connection with Gas Solution overall strategy  

  • Support Market-driven R&D in collaboration with Innovation and Sales

  • Product Portfolio Management – standardization, optimization of revisions, versions and options

  • Sales support - Providing technical specifications of standard products

  • Project support and commissioning support

  • Life cycle analysis and chain evaluations

  • Perform yearly criticality rating

  • Follow up on Product environmental targets

 

Qualifications:

  • Higher technical education, Master degree – or equivalent in Process Engineering / Mechanical Engineering

  • Experienced in using Excel

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Fluent English both verbally and in writing; 

  • 3-5 years of experience. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

  • Energetic, strong desire to realize business that contribute to the conversion from fossil to green energy.

  • Take actions and responsibility for his/her actions.

  • Strong self-drive, self-motivation and ability to work across disciplines.

  • Being a team player.
