JOB OVERVIEW

Provides guidance to staff, managing work assignments, and overseeing compliance, safety, and productivity during project execution.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations:

  • Prepares and maintains/modifies detailed procedures required by operations to implement sound project management practices in compliance with all regulations.
  • Defines operating and maintenance requirements applicable to present, planned, or proposed work.
  • Develops detailed guidelines and procedures for work involving unusual hazards or potential for such hazards.
  • For all proposed unusual operations/activities involving hazards, evaluates the situation, specifies control requirements, and provides adequate direction and support to the work to allow it to be done safely.
  • Recommends potential improvements to project planning, execution, and management methods, equipment, or facilities, based on internal and external operating experience, to minimize or eliminate risk or hazards.
  • Provides direction and guidance to facility staff, contract staff and visitors to assist in compliance with regulations.
  • Provides interpretation of procedures and guidance regarding compliance/implementation.
  • Review and monitoring off Finances, Service Level Agreements, Purchase Orders and other contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Performs inspection surveys as appropriate: nuclear facility air and water effluent radioactive waste and shipments. specifically high, unusual, or unexpected hazards abnormal conditions.
  • Inspects tooling and instrumentation to ensure conformance with applicable control regulations and initiates required corrective action.
  • Maintains nuclear facility control records.
  • Investigates incidents and participates in investigations of major incidents to determine causes and factors involved.
  • Develops training material for use in the training of staff
  • Prepares reports and presentation(s) on the state of ongoing and upcoming projects
  • Other duties as required


EXPERIENCE

We are seeking dynamic and results-driven professionals who have:

  • Experience in a nuclear facility work environment involving production and management operations, to gain a knowledge and appreciation of the routines and problems of the operating, planning and maintenance trades, capabilities, and limitations of trades personnel, and to acquire an appreciation for safe practices and processes.
  • Experience in the field of engineering, project management, radiation protection.
  • Experience to become familiar with the interrelationships of a support function with that of an operating nuclear generating facility.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience, including all aspects of external hiring of contractors and temporary staff required to carry out the work program. Requires experience to become familiar with the instructional aspects of adult learning.
  • A period of over 4 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
