Vattenfall are looking for an individual to join our dynamic UK HV Operations Team to assist with maintenance and construction services for HV assets across the UK in our Onshore Renewables portfolio.

You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of HV services to our Onshore Renewable energy sites. As part of our team you will get to support your peers in the delivery of HV engineering, given extensive training as we develop your skills and knowledge, leading you into a career as a Senior Authorised Person within the HV utilities sector.

Your role / what will you do? 

You will be working with a team of skilled HV Engineers, SAP’s and supporting staff across all aspects of the HV industry. A self determination to learn and better your skills along with a willingness to travel and work away when required during the week will be highly desirable when comparing candidates.

The role is site based with a company vehicle provided. The core hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Friday, depending on operational work and site requirements additional hours will be required. Opportunities to support additional overtime through evenings, weekends and travel abroad are also frequently available.

For the duration of the role you will have a structured training plan with measured objectives to help you achieve goals and targets. You may if required have the opportunity to receive day release in order to gain an industry recognised qualification.

Key Accountabilities:

These will include having the drive and determination to learn:

  • Maintenance of HV equipment
  • Interpret electrical drawings and records.
  • Carry out electrical testing and fault finding.
  • Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs.
  • Complete assessment and completion reports.
  • Carry out high voltage and low voltage switching as required.
  • Provide safety from the system for contractors and individuals.
  • Assess safety and apply controls and safety measures required.
  • Completing RAMS, job packs, test certificates and reports.
  • Facilitate a safe working environment during high / low voltage working.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Vattenfall.
  • Work towards becoming an authorisation engineer of Vattenfall Electrical and Mechanical safety Rules.
  • Liaise closely with the Hv & site team to understand and manage priorities.
  • Attend training and continuous development opportunities as required.

Location  
The base location of the role is at our Pen y Cymoedd Wind farm in South Wales with travel to other Vattenfall sites and contractor’s offices within the UK / Europe as and when required.
