We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the product strategy and execution for our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of the energy transition, working on innovative solutions that aggregate distributed energy resources to balance the grid and maximize renewable energy utilization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data, strategy, and external partners, to drive innovation and deliver market-leading solutions that optimize energy use, integrate distributed energy resources, and create new revenue opportunities.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for our VPP platform, aligned with the company's overall mission and vision.
  • Develop comprehensive product roadmaps that prioritize features and initiatives based on market needs, customer feedback, and technical feasibility, while effectively balancing short-term gains with long-term strategic goals.
  • Drive the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to launch and beyond, fostering a cross-functional collaboration to deliver a seamless user experience
  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced algorithms and integrations that enable the aggregation, control, and optimization of distributed energy resources (e.g., solar, batteries, EVs) within the VPP.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure technical excellence and seamless integration with utility and energy markets, leveraging your technical background to guide product decisions that maximize revenue streams and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with business development, marketing, and external teams to support go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and messaging for VPP offerings.
  • Serve as a product expert and advocate, providing clear communication and product updates to internal teams, executives, and external partners.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • A seasoned product leader with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in high-growth technology companies.
  • Possess a strong technical background with the ability to read, understand, and discuss code.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and a relentless drive to make a significant impact.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling products that generate massive datasets and operate at scale.
  • An analytical thinker who thrives on data-driven decision-making and utilizes metrics to measure success.
  • A born problem solver with a knack for identifying opportunities in ambiguity and crafting innovative solutions.
  • A natural communicator who can bridge the gap between technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
  • An inspiring leader who fosters collaboration and empowers cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Understanding of energy markets, grid operations, and demand response programs (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics as applied to energy systems (Preferred)
  • Experience with Virtual Power Plants and/or Home Energy Management Systems (Preferred)
