California Energy Commission (CEC) is hiring a Federal Compliance Specialist within the Energy Research & Development Division (ERDD). This Energy Commission Specialist I state classification is within the Portfolio Management Unit and provides an exciting opportunity to help lead California to a 100% clean energy future for all.
California Energy Commission (CEC) anticipates receiving over $1 billion in federal funding and is administering multiple programs using the funding made available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act. These programs require assistance with the administrative monitoring, reporting, compliance, and auditing support requirements applicable to each program. The Federal Compliance Specialist will be a key member of the Portfolio Management Unit facilitating and monitoring these processes.
Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to research applicable rules and regulations associated with federal funding received and strategize compliance and monitoring efforts to meet requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively and relay complicated information in a simple, consumer-friendly manner.
Strong analytical skills and ability to make well-supported recommendations.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work activities, and deliver high-quality, timely work products.
Ability to write, review, and edit technical information for various audiences, including CEC leadership and the public.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team and perform independent tasks that contribute toward shared goals.
Three years of technical experience performing technology evaluation and development duties in areas related to energy technologies, energy research, development and demonstration projects; advanced combustion technologies; transportation energy technologies and alternative fuels; efficiency improving energy technology and fuels; including duties such as analysis of economic, environmental and public health impacts.
** Telework option is available, but hired candidate must reside in California before starting.
