About the Role: BURN is looking for a Maintenance Electrical Technician who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various systems, equipment, and machinery on the factory floor.
They will play a crucial role in ensuring that equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and effectively.
Duties and responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including wiring issues, control systems, lighting systems and power supply problems using appropriate testing devices
Assist with the installation of new electrical equipment and systems, ensuring correct wiring and connection according to electrical codes and standards
Program and calibrate electrical control systems to optimize machine performance.
Conduct safety inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with electrical codes and company safety policies.
Identify electrical hazards and take corrective actions to prevent accidents.
Keep accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, including repairs made, parts used, and work hours.
Prepare detailed reports on electrical system performance and necessary upgrades or repairs.
Work closely with other maintenance staff, production teams, and engineering to ensure the availability and reliability of electrical systems.
Prepare and interpret technical diagrams.
Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
Work with MRO stores to procure and maintain electrical spares
Working as a team member or alone to complete projects.
Making decisions based on technical documents.
Performing electrical quality testing and inspections.
Should be able to work on a shift basis
Any other job may be assigned by management.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering.
5+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical machines in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with maintenance and set-up of mechanical and hydraulic presses.
Knowledge in maintenance and set-up of laser cutting machines.
Knowledge of electrical work is an added advantage.
