About the role Burn is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various systems, equipment, and machinery on the factory floor. They will play a crucial role in ensuring that equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including spot welders, rivet guns, strapping machines, Paint shop and compressors.
Diagnose and repair mechanical failures, ensuring equipment is returned to optimal operating condition within the departmental set targets on response time and repair time
Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs by improving assembly line equipment efficiency and reducing the need for replacement parts.
Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to the shift supervisor.
Implement the maintenance procedures and working routines.
Ensure the right tools are readily available at the workstation.
Perform root cause analysis together with the area engineer and resolve problems.
Reduce MTTR Mean Time to Repair in the assembly line and escalate to the shift supervisor as per the escalation matrix.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs completed, and hours worked.
Provide training to line operators and junior technicians.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure the availability and functionality of mechanical equipment.
Assist with the installation of new assembly line mechanical equipment, ensuring proper setup according to manufacturer specifications
Should be able to work on a shift basis
Conduct safety checks on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Adjust and calibrate machinery to meet production standards and requirements.
Provide mechanical support and expertise to other technicians and staff as needed.
Any other job may be assigned by management.
Skills and Experience
Minimum diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering.
5+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of machines in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with maintenance and set-up of mechanical and hydraulic presses.
Knowledge in maintenance and set-up of laser cutting machines.
Knowledge of electrical work is an added advantage.
Able to work on shift bases.
