Position Overview

Apollo is seeking an individual to join the Institutional Client Group (ICG) to lead the strategic account function for our Asia institutional business. This role will be working closely with the Head of APAC Institutional Client Group on day-to-day strategic account management and managing a cadence of operating rhythms and routines for the sales business.

This role will also provide a centralized point of connectivity in driving ICG Asia team co-ordination, support fundraising across Asia sales team internally, and ensure all external counterparties are well covered and maintained.

The individual must possess high EQ as they will interact with a variety of constituents, manage an array of priorities on a day-to-day basis and must be able to respond quickly and accurately on time-sensitive deliverables. They will require knowledge of all business areas, exceptional relationship management, sales acumen, communication and influencing skills at all levels, and a strong focus on execution.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

  • Support the Head of ICG Asia in covering strategic accounts across the region in addition to the Head of ICG Asia’s direct coverage.
  • Project manage day-to-day activity with our key strategic accounts in partnership with regional sales teams.
  • Develop and maintain trackers for regional top limited partner (LP), credit LP, co-investment and help hold sales and product teams accountable for progress.

Regional Co-ordination / Business Management for Strategic Accounts

  • Drive co-ordination within ICG Asia team as well as with the broader capital formation teams in the region, plus day-to-day management of strategic account workflows across teams. Interface with Asia management (both regional and in-country).
  • Prepare/coordinate bespoke materials for strategic partnership discussions, meetings with key LPs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent education and academic record.
  • 8-12 years of prior fund raising and/or investment experience, preferably within a traditional or alternative asset management firm.
  • Sound understanding of alternatives, particularly private credit and equity.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage senior stakeholder relationships both regionally Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Capable of understanding complex operational processes and concepts and articulating it in layman terms to relevant parties to facilitate solutions.
  • An enthusiastic self-starter with a proactive and hands-on approach. High energy and drive, and comfort with working in a lean, fast-paced environment, demonstrating a willingness to ‘roll up their sleeves’.
  • A strong compliance culture and commitment to adhere to and embrace internal compliance policies.
  • Exhibit the ‘One Apollo’ mind-set, an environment without silos where cooperation and coordination are vital to success.
