Overview

RES is hiring an Assistant Project Manager (Ecological Restoration) to assist with the implementation and oversight of projects to ensure our timely delivery and budgetary performance. This position will be assigned to the project in Richmond, VA, and will be supervising projects located across Northern Virginia. The projects you will be working on include stream restorations, wetland mitigation, and stormwater BMP implementation.

The mission: Our team is growing! The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and/or oversight of assigned projects to ensure their timely execution and completion within budget. Reporting to the Project Manager, and working closely with accounting, and Operations Managers.

What your day-to-day might look like?

You will be responsible for ensuring that subcontractors adhere to project specifications and complete their work on time. This includes liaising with the Project Manager on a daily basis and conducting regular site visits. Regular site visits, including taking photographs, and coordinating with subcontractors and the Project Manager will be part of your duties.

You will handle materials ordering and staging as per bid or in coordination with the Site Superintendent. Additionally, you will manage project submittals and interact with inspectors, including measuring quantities, alerting the Project Manager to needs for change orders, and interacting with site visitors.

Other responsibilities include AE divisional and inter-divisional coordination and helping generate project budgets. You must ensure that assigned projects are completed on schedule and assist with monthly invoicing, including quantity tracking. You will also assist with private and public sector estimating, bids, and proposal writing as assigned, and coordinate with construction operations and estimating.

Qualifications

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, or similar field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software

What will make you stand out?

  • Knowledge of nature-based restoration design and construction.
  • 1+ years' experience in an applied-sciences, engineering, or construction field.
