About the role:

As an Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory levels and coordinating with manufacturing departments to ensure efficient product transfer to distribution stock locations. You will oversee the accurate and efficient receipt of all inbound goods for the distribution operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs associated with soiled and damaged stock, enhancing distribution efficiency.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure SKUs are stored appropriately according to their classification, optimizing warehouse and yard operations.
  • Manage and maintain the inventory location system within the ERP, ensuring all inventory is correctly allocated.
  • Investigate stock variances, adjust inventory to maintain accuracy, report findings to management, and implement changes to reduce future discrepancies.
  • Oversee the quarantine area, updating the register and organizing the destruction or removal of quarantined goods after resolution.
  • Effectively manage Returned Material Advices (RMAs), ensuring returned goods are in resalable condition before booking for credit reconciliation.
  • Verify and book daily and weekend production into the system, confirming that ‘finished goods’ are physically received.
  • Maintain the integrity of the B4 report, addressing any issues of short supply, over supply, damaged, or incorrect items with the respective sending distribution center.
  • Negotiate positive outcomes with internal and external sales personnel.
  • Follow up with suppliers on the status of purchase orders.
  • Identify risks and apply SH&E processes.
  • Adhere to Vinidex WHS and Quality standards.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven analytical skills in supply chain planning, inventory, and forecasting.
  • Excellent numeracy, accuracy, and Excel skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organise work, and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
