The opportunity

Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after-sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits, and replacements.

Our unit is responsible for extensions, retrofits, replacements of own and third-party substations, including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, and troubleshooting.

You would be part of an international team, where we support each other and grow together.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Oversee the successful execution of diverse projects from the sales handover through design, production, and site completion

  • Coordinate the project team post-handover, ensuring each member from the required disciplines completes their tasks and work packages according to the project plan

  • Define and manage all project milestones during execution, ensuring on-time, on-quality, and on-cost delivery. Proactively report deviations to management and initiate corrective actions to keep the project on track

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, ensuring their satisfaction through open and proactive communication.

  • Leverage your commercial experience to manage contracts effectively with customers

  • Manage changes in the scope of delivery, identify opportunities to increase revenue and margin, and reduce project risks

  • Share knowledge, success stories, and learnings with the team, and continuously identify, initiate, and lead improvement actions

Your background

  • Combine a technical education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with commercial training

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management

  • A PM certification would be beneficial

  • Showcase a positive mindset and a constructive approach when confronted with complex or urgent challenges

  • Business fluent in English; any other languages would be a plus

  • To be successful in this job, require excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ideally, have experience in SAP as well as product knowledge in GIS and GCB
