Due to our continuous growth, we are hiring a Project Manager in the Automation department. The automation department manages the deliveries of different sub-systems of a HVDC transmission system including overall SCADA system, AC substation Control & Protection, communication including Cyber Security and Telecom equipment.

This is a hybrid working role, based in both our Västerås, Sweden

offices and your home-office.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage the automation part of HVDC projects, from tender stage to delivery completion.
  • Lead a team of engineers from the automation department representing the different technical disciplines.
  • Ensure good interaction, coordination, and information flow between all project stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple contracts with customers and sub-suppliers.
  • Work closely with project directors, controllers, planners, and contract managers to manage the project and periodically report and present status and progress in review sessions.
  • Travel 5 to 10 times per year, representing Hitachi Energy in the best of ways.

Your background

  • Background as technically proficient project manager or commercially proficient project engineer. Experience from projects in the energy sector. Preferably substations, FACTS or HVDC.
  • Strong sense for business, comfortable with customer meetings and technical negotiations, interested in and understands contracts and a strong sense of responsibility for safety and business ethics.
  • Passion for people and technology. You love working with people and understand that your ability to deliver a successful project depends on your teams and their abilities to function and collaborate in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.
  • Proficient and fluent in English is required since you will be part of an international setting where you will need to communicate with people from all over the world.
