Are You a Problem Solver at Heart? Do you have 5-8 years of experience in renewable energy projects or high-voltage power generation? We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer , you have a proven track record in solar PV, wind, and BESS projects, you will contribute your expertise to a company that’s at the forefront of shaping the future of renewable energy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Our client is rapidly expanding and has a portfolio of over 100 MW of operational wind projects and a pipeline of more than 2.5GW in wind, solar, and battery storage projects. Backed by a global energy group, this company is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
In this role, you’ll be tasked with conducting technical analyses, creating designs, and assisting the Head of Engineering to coordinate tasks, review teamwork, and ensure high-quality results for wind, solar, and energy storage projects. From overcoming site-specific challenges to ensuring seamless integration of SCADA and power management systems, you’ll lead the effort to deliver efficient, high-performance systems.
To succeed, you'll need a strong foundation in electrical theory, grid integration, and system optimisation. Most importantly, you'll leverage your problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and leadership skills to drive the successful execution of projects—getting it right every time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical Design & Optimisation: Lead the internal design and optimization for PV, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Perform loss calculations, cable sizing, and electrical system optimisation
- Technical Leadership: Review and challenge electrical designs from contractors. Conduct feasibility studies, technical due diligence, and cost estimates for electrical works
- Bid Support & Procurement: Help with bid preparations, analysing contractor submissions, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications. Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors
- Construction Support & Quality Control: Provide technical support during the construction phase. Oversee site acceptance tests (SAT), and factory acceptance tests (FAT), and ensure all systems meet quality standards
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Lead a team of engineers, ensuring cross-department collaboration and sharing knowledge. Mentor junior engineers and help them grow in their careers
- Health & Safety: Ensure all electrical systems meet safety standards and legal requirements at each stage of the project
