As a Territory Sales Manager at Pivot Bio, you will be responsible for driving sales within your assigned territory, focusing on cultivating relationships with agricultural clients and promoting our innovative microbial solutions. Your role will involve strategic business planning, sales team training, territory management, conducting sales calls, recruiting and managing representatives, and executing effective prospecting strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive business plans for achieving sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategic planning.
  • Train and mentor sales representatives on product knowledge, sales techniques, and effective territory management.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure sales representatives are equipped to meet their targets.
  • Strategically divide the territory into manageable segments to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Develop and implement territory plans to effectively cover key accounts and prospects.
  • Conduct regular sales calls with existing and potential customers to promote Pivot Bio products and services.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within agricultural organizations.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard talented sales representatives within the territory.
  • Collaborate with Channel Development and Sales Effectiveness to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
  • Identify and prioritize prospects within the territory through market research and networking.
  • Implement effective prospecting strategies to expand the customer base and generate new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in agriculture sector with a focus on independent inputs
  • Proven track record of success in agricultural sales, preferably in the biotech or agribusiness industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

All remote positions and those not located in our Berkeley facility are paid based on National Benchmark data.  Following employment, growth beyond the hiring range is possible based on performance.
