We are seeking an accomplished Commercial Lead with expertise in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), managing large-scale solar projects, and driving growth through strategic M&A. With strong financial acumen and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in positioning our client’s investment division as a market leader in the renewable energy sector.

Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy space, focused on sustainable investments and the development of clean energy solutions for C&I clients. With a robust asset portfolio and a commitment to driving the green energy transition, they are looking for a dynamic leader to guide their growth.

As Commercial Lead, you will ensure the financial stability of solar projects, collaborate with technical teams to meet both financial and operational goals, and identify key acquisitions to fuel expansion. Your strategic vision will enable you to navigate challenges while maintaining operational efficiency, driving both long-term success and day-to-day results.

You will oversee the full business lifecycle, manage risk, structure financing, and maximise investor returns while playing a central role in integrating new projects, products, and acquisitions into the client’s growing portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • PPA Negotiation and Execution: Lead the negotiation and structuring of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), ensuring projects are financially sound and positioned for long-term success
  • Project Oversight: Guide the technical team to ensure solar projects align with our client’s financial goals, beyond just meeting technical specifications
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing both technical and financial concerns to ensure client satisfaction
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Identify and pursue acquisition opportunities, leading negotiations to drive growth through the acquisition of solar projects or companies
  • Exploring New Revenue Streams: Investigate and develop additional revenue opportunities, such as water and energy management services or carbon credits
  • Business Development: Drive business growth through strategic planning and execution. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand client base and revenue streams
  • Business Management: Work closely with technical teams to align and enhance our offerings. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (clients, investors, lenders)
  • Financial Processes: Oversee financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to optimise profitability and returns
  • Investment Management: Oversee the evaluation and approval process for new investments. Manage project and credit risk assessments and prepare investment proposals
  • Monitor Project Performance: Ensuring adherence to contracts and financial goals
  • Valuations and Reporting: Maintain and update the company’s valuation model. Provide regular reports to the board and stakeholders. Ensure all financial reporting aligns with lender agreements and investment expectations
