The Opportunity

InCharge Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Training Manager to lead the creation, administration, and delivery of training programs for electric vehicle (EV) charging technicians. Based at our dedicated Bellflower, CA facility, this role is pivotal in shaping and equipping the next generation of EV charging specialists. Working within the Operations team and reporting to the CEO and Senior Technical Product Launch Manager, you’ll lead both classroom and hands-on sessions, teaching students the critical aspects of EV charging technology, electrical theory, and related safety standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop comprehensive training materials, including instructional guides, technical manuals, and safety procedures, leveraging content from EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) OEMs and relevant industry resources.
  • Integrate and teach regulatory standards, including NFPA 70, OSHA, and lift safety, ensuring technician adherence to safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations. Deliver training and assessments via a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Conduct engaging classroom sessions and hands-on training for EV charging station theory, transformers, electrical panels, and foundational electrical theory, tailored specifically for EVSE technicians and electrical apprentices.
  • Develop assessments, tests, and quizzes to monitor trainee progress and knowledge retention. Collect data to improve training effectiveness and adjust program content as needed.
  • Stay current with evolving EV charging technology and industry best practices. Adapt and update training materials and course content to ensure technicians are well-prepared to handle the latest EV charging technology.
  • Meet regularly with management and other departments to proactively identify instructional needs and develop training plans that align with company goals and industry developments.
  • Coordinate internal communications to promote courses, outline necessary details for prospective trainees, and develop marketing materials that increase awareness of available programs.

Your Experience and Capabilities

  • 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Technician, Control Technician, or Electrical Contractor, with a strong foundation in electrical theory and application.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, administering, and delivering technical training in a classroom and workshop setting, ideally for electrical apprentices or EV charging technicians.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize and track student progress and course content.
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse groups of students, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Skilled at managing multiple training initiatives and schedules, ensuring timely completion of training programs and adherence to curriculum standards.
  • Proven experience in developing training materials from needs analysis to lesson planning, content creation, and delivery, ensuring alignment with best practices in adult learning.
  • Understanding of customer-focused service goals and standards, especially as they relate to supporting technical teams and end-user satisfaction.
US Salary Range
$100,000$125,000 USD
