Responsible for investigation and development of briefs in relation with contractual issues, cost impact assessments and time impact assessments, leading to the preparation of contractual position papers while protecting the Company from commercial risk on the Project (both upstream and downstream). The role requires coordination with the different relevant departments of the Project (Finance, Design, Construction, Program) to provide the relevant overview of the contractual matters.

Moreover, the Contracts Manager will manage, control and be responsible for the day-to-day subcontract administration and payment, contractual claims and contract management, including reporting to the Commercial Manager and the Project Management Team.

Job Description

  • Produce and/or supervise the preparation of contractual position papers
  • Coordinate with the necessary Project Departments in the preparation of relevant contractual position papers
  • Supervise the receipt and process Payment Applications from subcontractors and issuance of Payment Certificates
  • Day-to-day subcontract administration and payment, contractual claims and subcontract management
  • In consultation with the Commercial Manager, prepare, follow and administer a register of commercial issues
  • Advise the Commercial Manager on contractual issues and initiate correspondence both upstream and downstream (proactive not reactive)
  • Understand and adhere to company commercial practices and procedures.
  • Prepare, review & submit to the Commercial Manager contractual position papers.
  • Supervise, review & submit to the Commercial Manager subcontractor’s Payment Certificates
  • Commercial issues register
  • Project Management Team weekly reporting
  • Monthly reporting to Commercial function in HQ

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related Construction field, and/or corresponding professional membership.
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in the Construction Industry (including civil international projects)
  • Proficient in English Language
