About the role
As the Regional Sales Manager, you will lead a team of Territory Managers within a specific region, driving both business growth and customer success. You will be responsible for overseeing the execution of sales strategies, ensuring customer satisfaction, local marketing coordination, and enabling your team to hit ambitious growth targets. This role requires a leader who is both strategic and hands-on, capable of mentoring Territory Managers while working cross-functionally to align field learnings with product, support, and the broader Halter organization.
In this role, you will set the vision and priorities for your team, support their daily efforts, and work to optimize performance across the region. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership to execute go-to-market strategies that help Halter scale effectively in the US.
Compensation: $90K/yr - $100K/yr + uncapped variable component (170 to 185K OTE)
This role is based in Denver, Colorado. Frequent travel is required as part of the position.
What your day could look like
- Owning Territory Goals & Reporting Progress: Setting and monitoring regional revenue and growth targets, tracking Territory Managers' progress against these goals, and reporting insights and forecasts to the broader US and Global Halter team. You’ll ensure alignment between field activities and broader company objectives.
- Leading and Managing a Team: Coaching and supporting Territory Managers to succeed and deliver on both revenue and customer success targets. This includes providing mentorship, strategic guidance, and resources needed to excel in their roles.
- Reviewing Sales Pipelines & Providing Deal Strategy Guidance: Analyzing sales pipelines across the region, guiding Territory Managers on deal strategies, and ensuring accurate forecasting. You’ll assess deal quality and alignment with territory goals to maximize growth opportunities.
- Collaborating Cross-Functionally: Working closely with global Halter teams to address customer challenges, leveraging field insights to drive product improvements, and ensuring that Territory Managers have the support they need to resolve customer issues effectively.
- Engaging with Key Accounts: Building and maintaining strong relationships with high-value accounts, advocating for their needs internally at Halter, and ensuring they achieve long-term success with Halter’s solutions. You’ll partner with Territory Managers to strengthen customer loyalty and retention.
- Conducting Regular Team Meetings: Holding regular team meetings to review progress, share best practices, align on strategies, and address any blockers. This includes coaching on pipeline management, account strategy, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Strategizing & Aligning with Leadership: Communicating regional performance updates, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership. You’ll play a key role in aligning territory goals with Halter’s growth strategy and driving initiatives that strengthen the company’s foothold in the US market.
- Travelling to Support Regional Activities: Traveling within your region to support Territory Managers, meet with key customers, and attend relevant industry events, ensuring you stay connected to the market and actively represent Halter.
- Partnering with Marketing: Working closely with the Marketing team to align on lead generation, growth initiatives, and brand positioning, helping to establish Halter as the leader in virtual fencing within your region.
Who are we looking for
- Leadership Attitude: You are a results-driven leader, highly motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to inspire your team in high-stakes environments. You thrive in situations where quick thinking and decisive action are needed to deliver results. You are always well-prepared, and you excel at communicating effectively with your team, internal stakeholders, and external prospects.
- Sales Leadership: Minimum of 4 years of experience in value-based, end-to-end sales, with a proven history of successfully sourcing new prospects, creating sales opportunities, closing deals, and expanding opportunities with existing customers. You possess the ability to lead a team in securing meetings, managing pipelines, driving the full sales process, and executing upselling strategies. Your focus is on ensuring your team meets sales goals in a data-driven way while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
- Customer Success Focus: Demonstrated experience in building and managing strong, lasting relationships with customers. You are adept at handling and leading post-sales processes, ensuring your team drives successful onboarding, ongoing customer satisfaction, and retention. You have a strategic mindset for post-sales value building and possess experience in guiding your team to upsell existing customers, expanding key partnerships, and maximizing customer lifetime value.
- Sales acumen: Strong understanding of business development, account management, and customer success.
- Travel appetite: Willingness to travel regularly within your assigned region to support your team and engage with customers.
Bonus Qualifications (These are not mandatory for you to apply)
- Experience in the agricultural industry, particularly within pasture-based cattle farming or virtual fencing technology.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture solutions or similar technology-driven farming tools.
- Experience in software sales (SaaS), particularly in leading teams and managing customer relationships.
