The Role

This role is part of the People and Culture (P&C) team and will support our Gemini team. Gemini is our conversational AI tool that enables users to collaborate with generative AI and help augment their imagination, expand their curiosity, and enhance their productivity. You will spend the majority of your time working with managers and teams in this space, in addition to contributing to projects to build tools and programs to support our culture. 

Within our wider People & Culture team, we have a large, talented and supportive Partnering team, focused on continuous learning, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices. 

Working in an organisation with a people-first approach, there is time and resource to build incredibly strong and impactful relationships with managers and leaders. The Partnering team provides strategic and thoughtful guidance, enabling managers and leaders to not only perform, but grow in their roles. In addition, partners contribute to and lead on projects that  build tools and programs which  support our culture and the wider organisation. 


Key responsibilities

  • Partnering and coaching managers to develop their skills and drive a high performance culture
  • Delivering high impact solutions to challenges including talent development, organisation design, and leadership capability
  • Drive delivery of cyclical People & Culture processes including annual performance evaluations, compensation planning, and promotion processes
  • Run operational people processes exclusive to Google DeepMind.
  • Building an equitable and fair environment for employees by identifying workplace culture gaps and developing solutions against them.
  • Partnering with managers to resolve workplace concerns, and proactively examining workplace success metrics.
  • Help onboard new executives and ensure they are set up for success to allow for fast impact.
  • Acting with confidence in an inspiring and fast paced environment, instilling trust in everyone you interact with, and delivering thoughtful and bespoke solutions.
  • Being proactive and adaptable - if you don’t know the answer you are tenacious in finding it out.
  • Utilising a data driven approach to partnering
  • Focusing on continuous improvement (Kaizen approach)

About You

In order to set you up for success as a People & Culture Partner at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience:

  • You have substantial experience operating as an HR professional, preferably some of which was in a small but fast growing business, where you had to build innovative HR practices and frameworks yourself
  • You enjoy a blend of partnering and project work and can seamlessly move from one to the other
  • You possess an outstanding understanding of human behaviour including an understanding of self
  • You are able to build solid relationships with people quickly and have a high sense of empathy; you put them at ease and create understanding.
  • Being extremely organised, you are used to working at a very quick pace and balancing many different tasks. You are proactive and see what needs to be done.
  • You can effectively navigate ambiguity and enjoy changeable environments where you can implement creative and innovative ideas.
  • You enjoy variety and feel that no task is too big or too small.
  • You are inventive and enjoy managing your own work and projects. You like operating independently but also love being part of a highly encouraging and collaborative team. You share information and support the growth and development of others in your team and understand that succeed or fail, we do so as a team.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $129,000 - $198,000 + bonus + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
