We are seeking a Head of Certification to lead and advance Klim's certification activities, aligning with the needs of our corporate clients and farmers in the agri-food value chain.
Responsibilities:
Certification Lead: Develop and lead the overall certification, credit, and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) strategy and a team of experts and scientists. Ensure credits meet company goals, quality standards, and evolving market and regulatory requirements, maintaining sound unit economics.
Team Collaboration: Design and lead effective collaboration with the Klim farmer-, business-development-, finance-, and product teams on all certification-related tasks to ensure all activities are aligned and fulfil the individual teams and customer's needs.
Regulatory 360°: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of both insetting and offsetting regulatory developments and trends to derive key strategic and tactical insights, forming conclusions and recommendations for Klim.
Market Standards Influence: Influence relevant national and international market standards to shape the operating environment for our certification program.
Sales Interaction: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer and market needs.
Customer Advisory: Provide expert advice on our certification process during engagements with both prospective and existing corporate clients, such as Food Retailers, large CPGs, and other stakeholders in the food value chain.
Effective Communication: Present findings to a multidisciplinary audience, including the Senior Management Team, with expertise and confidence.
Reporting, Inventory and Registry Management: Deliver certification program results to clients on time. Manage internal inventory and third-party public registry activities to prevent risks like double counting.
Your Profile
Educational Background: Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, economics, business administration, or a related field.
Professional Background: At least 5 years of experience in a corporate, regulatory, or startup environment.
Certification Expertise: Proven expertise in Scope 3 emissions reduction, credit management, and carbon credit trading in agri-food value chains. Knowledge of insetting and offsetting credit strategies, market standards, accounting methodologies, and practical implementation.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and conceptual skills. Ability to understand complex systems, derive insights from large data sets, and develop solutions that meet multiple, competing requirements.
Attention to Detail: You are detail-oriented, think concepts through, and deliver accurate and reliable results.
Communication Skills: You very have strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and communicating complex topics succinctly and persuasively. Fluency in English is required.
Working Style: High degree of autonomy and independence. Motivated to drive our vision of a regenerative food value chain. Comfortable with giving and receiving feedback.
