Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key responsibilities:

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex signalling issues efficiently, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to ensure system functionality and safety.

  • Ensuring compliance with safety and engineering design standards

  • Produce signalling designs

  • Producing technical documents such as Design, Assurance and Safety reports

  • Producing detailed design and calculations reports regarding low voltage power distribution systems

  • Create and develop strong working relationships to facilitate knowledge & best practice

  • Producing and managing BOM, direct contact with suppliers as required

  • Support Construction and T&C activities on site

  • Analyse and report technical non-conformities

Skills & Experience:

  • Electrical, Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/University Degree or equivalent technical background.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Transportation/Signalling System Engineering

  • Knowledge of rail signalling standards and regulations

  • Knowledge of electrical design and applicable regulations such as AS3000, AS3008

  • Expert knowledge of Windows applications such as Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint

  • Strong knowledge of MicroStation
