What you'll be doing

Serve is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to manage mechanical hardware quality for the HW team as an individual contributor.  Successful candidates will have a proven capability for technical program management, strong organizational skills and experience leading culture and change management. This role requires someone who has a strategic mindset with a deep understanding of hardware development processes and quality process control.

Responsibilities

  • The SQE plays a pivotal role and oversees a variety of projects, interfaces with factories and manages technical and quality ensuring parts received at the FATP location are within engineering specifications.

  • Develops measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve manufacturing control at mass production scale 

  • Develops and implements quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics 

  • Compiles and evaluates data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications 

  • Coordinates all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as project manager to lead efforts at supplier locations 

  • Evaluates and communicates yields of new and existing manufacturing processes 

  • Drives corrective actions multi-functionally with internal and external team members

  • Spearheads the coordination of process and quality implementation efforts, fostering collaboration across diverse teams to engineer optimal solutions

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or a combination of equivalent experience and education

  • 5+ years of overall experience including:

    • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams.

    • 3+ years of working in a hardware quality role.

  • Proficiency in Program Management and planning tools

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers.

  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics

  • Experience managing cross functional programs building processes and coordinating release schedules.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Have the ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous situations
