Serve is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to manage mechanical hardware quality for the HW team as an individual contributor. Successful candidates will have a proven capability for technical program management, strong organizational skills and experience leading culture and change management. This role requires someone who has a strategic mindset with a deep understanding of hardware development processes and quality process control.
The SQE plays a pivotal role and oversees a variety of projects, interfaces with factories and manages technical and quality ensuring parts received at the FATP location are within engineering specifications.
Develops measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve manufacturing control at mass production scale
Develops and implements quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics
Compiles and evaluates data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications
Coordinates all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as project manager to lead efforts at supplier locations
Evaluates and communicates yields of new and existing manufacturing processes
Drives corrective actions multi-functionally with internal and external team members
Spearheads the coordination of process and quality implementation efforts, fostering collaboration across diverse teams to engineer optimal solutions
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or a combination of equivalent experience and education
5+ years of overall experience including:
3+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
3+ years of working in a hardware quality role.
Proficiency in Program Management and planning tools
Experience working with contract manufacturers.
Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics
Experience managing cross functional programs building processes and coordinating release schedules.
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Have the ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous situations
Experience bringing up Tier 1 contract manufacturers
Spoken Mandarin language
