Overview

The Machine Operator may operate various production line, enter specifications into the machines, verify dimensions and quality, and package finished products. Machine operation may also involve the hands-on assembly of core laminations and tooling, general material handling and area organization.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate machines.
  • Measure and monitor quality.
  • Material Handling.
  • Be sure company rules are followed.
  • Ensure production processes are followed.
  • Hands on assembly using hammers, clamps, caliper and banding tools and other tools, as needed. 
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to measure dimensions and measurement.
  • Must possess Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English

Work activities

  • Wear proper PPE 
  • May be required to use heavy equipment, Forklift, Hoist, and other heavy equipment
  • Forklift (Training provided) as needed.
  • May have to use epoxy or tape
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs or more.
  • Other duties can be assigned
  • Will work in Varying conditions

Additional:

 

  • Overtime and Saturdays may be required as determined by the Company. when conditions require employees to work extra hours to satisfy customer demands. When this happens, employees will be expected to work overtime at the Supervisor’s request.

 

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common production reports and company documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the work team. Ability to effectively present information to management or work teams.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Forklift Operation. Training and certification available

 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
