We are seeking a passionate and driven DE&I Partner to join our DEI team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of our DEI strategy. You will collaborate closely with team members as well as cross functional stakeholder groups and leadership to advise and guide teams through change. The Role

As a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Partner, you will be a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion within Google DeepMind. You will be involved in a range of activities, from supporting the implementation of key initiatives to conducting research and analyzing data to measure our progress. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with different teams and contribute to building a culture where everyone feels valued and respected. We are a small team that strives for outsized impact.

This role would suit someone who enjoys collaboration, coaching and working through complex, varied and often ambiguous situations. A growth mindset is critical–we tackle tough questions and we don’t always get it right. Resilience, persistence and a willingness to try, fail and try again are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Employee Resource Groups to drive continuous support and impact: Assist in the design, execution, and change management of multiple programs and initiatives aligned with our DEI strategy.
  • Conduct research and analysis: Help to evolve our DEI data strategy aligning with key stakeholders to conduct analysis identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training and educational materials: Create engaging content to raise awareness and understanding of DEI topics across the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders: Partner with teams across Google DeepMind to integrate DEI principles into their work and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Support employee and leadership needs: Provide guidance and support focused on promoting diversity and inclusion impact. 
  • Stay abreast of DEI best practices: Keep up-to-date on current trends, research, and best practices in the field of DEI.

Requirements:

  • Experience and knowledge in DEI: Has deep subject matter expertise in key D&I topics. Utilizes knowledge to facilitate and advise clients on fundamental/core D&I topics. Strengthens expertise through continuous learning and demonstrates subject matter proficiency across a breadth of groups (i.e. race, disability, gender, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of DEI concepts: Familiarity with key DEI terminology, concepts, principles, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Builds and establishes trust with stakeholders. Able to manage breadth of stakeholder relationships and effectively prioritizes needs, engagement, and requests in order to meet overall objectives. Through coaching and influencing is able to positively shift and/or change stakeholder mindset and business strategy. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to inform DEI initiatives.
  • Project management experience: Experience in managing and delivering projects effectively.
  • Self Awareness: Understands how their own emotions and identity influence their behavior. Upholds ethics and integrity in all aspects of work. Builds empathy and resilience and demonstrates emotional intelligence.
