Your mission
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures for production, and time series data
  • Developing and operating ETL pipelines based on OT, IoT and cloud technologies such as Engineering Database, MES, AWS IoT Core + Greengrass, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Redshift and Amazon Lambda
  • Implementing and managing time series data pipeline and data storage solutions to handle large volumes of production data
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to collect, clean, and process data from various sources including IoT devices and production systems
  • Supporting and collaborating with our Digitization OT & Automation and IT engineers to develop and deploy data models and algorithms to support predictive maintenance, quality control, process engineering, and other AI-driven initiatives
  • Working closely with data analyst or scientists and engineers to ensure data availability and quality for advanced analytics and machine learning projects
  • Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with company policies and industry standards
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data engineering practices
Your profile
  • Completed studies in computer science, information technology, engineering or comparable experience
  • Exposure to analytics and/or IoT use cases
  • Proven experience (more than 5 years) as a Data Engineer, data modeling, warehousing and the development of ETL pipelines (ideally based on AWS) preferably within a manufacturing or industrial, or automotive sectors.
  • Experience with ETL big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) for collecting sensor or timeseries data.
  • Knowledge of higher programming & scripting languages (Python, Bash, PySpark) and experience with databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with IoT technology and connectivity as well as with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools on AWS (e.g. Jenkins, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline) (e.g. MQTT, OPC UA) is an advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially on AWS systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Very good English and German language skills, both written and spoken
