Job Description

You will work closely with the founders and executive team to develop overall policy and operational strategy – and help build/support key customer relationships through characterization of carbon impact from Genesis deployment. You’ll have extreme ownership over your work, move quickly, and operate with high agency. As we grow, there will be opportunities to expand your role with the company.


Responsibilities may be tailored to the candidate’s profile and could include:

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to support the company’s policy, regulatory, and carbon accounting goals

  • Build robust life-cycle assessments, feasibility studies, and project scoping works for Genesis deployments (GREET, GHGenius, etc.)

  • Advocate for policies that align with General Galactic’s goal to create a fossil-free future by scaling carbon conversion technology

  • Manage permitting and logistics of technology deployment at federal, state, and/or international levels

  • Engage with the EPA and similar regulatory bodies

  • Design and implement engagement strategies for federal, state, and international regulatory policy

  • Travel to partner sites, industry conferences, and critical meetings

  • Contribute to company’s industry-specific market strategies; ownership of outcomes and direct contribution to company commercial growth and scaling


Requirements

Successful applicants should have most of the following:

  • 7+ years of experience in regulatory, carbon accounting, policy, and/or logistics work in a relevant industrial or startup setting

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with various customers and stakeholders in the US and internationally

  • Demonstrated expertise in life-cycle assessments and carbon-accounting platforms including GHGenius, GREET, etc.

  • Existing relationships with carbon-accounting world of consultants and regulators

  • Seniority, know-how, and comfort engaging with a multitude of stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of challenges associated with scaling and deploying a first-of-a-kind technology

  • Strong understanding of policy regulations, certification requirements, etc. associated with energy projects

  • Experience in a high-growth environment for hardware/technology commercialization
