Position Overview

The Carbonauts is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and results-driven Community & Growth Manager to lead our efforts in sales, marketing, and community engagement. This role combines strategic leadership, operational execution, and creative problem-solving, requiring a self-starter and Swiss Army Knife professional who thrives in a remote setting and excels at balancing client-facing interactions with deep creative work. 

You will support the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal progression, assisting the leadership team in closing key opportunities while also taking ownership of smaller deals. You’ll ensure efficient pipeline management and deliver compelling client materials to drive success.In addition, you’ll spearhead marketing initiatives across multiple channels, including social media, email campaigns, events, and sponsorships. Collaboration with internal teams, coordination with event hosts, and the development of community-driven programs will be central to your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Enablement/Support:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth.

  • Support the leadership team in preparing for client calls and presentations.

  • Join sales calls to represent The Carbonauts, actively listen to prospect needs, take detailed and actionable notes, and ask insightful questions to uncover opportunities and drive meaningful conversations.

  • Draft and deliver compelling follow-up materials, including proposals, recaps, and customized client outreach, by deeply understanding client needs and quickly crafting creative, on-target solutions that resonate and drive results 

  • Manage the sales pipeline and deal board on Hubspot, ensuring opportunities are tracked and progressed efficiently.

  • Experiment with and incorporate AI tools into workflows to streamline processes, boost productivity, and enhance output — while maintaining a strong emphasis on critical thinking and personalized engagement.


Marketing Support & Execution:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to maximize sales touch points, generate new leads, build LinkedIn connections, and nurture relationships with clients and partners.

  • Oversee marketing efforts across channels, including social media, email campaigns, email newsletters, physical events, and virtual events.

  • Manage a calendar of marketing initiatives aligned with strategic focus areas, key business objectives, timely hooks, and industry conferences. 

  • Identify and execute strategic partnership and sponsorship opportunities to drive additional revenue streams in newsletter and event sponsorships.

  • Design and execute high-impact event series and engagement programs to expand community and foster connections.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Coordinate with event stakeholders (hosts, speakers, sponsors, ambassadors, venues, photographers, etc.) to brief them on plans for physical and virtual events, ensuring alignment with sales goals and a seamless attendee experience.

  • Work closely with the content team to produce high-quality, timely content that aligns with and supports the sales and marketing strategy.

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with clients, sponsors, and partners.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Define, track, and analyze key metrics to measure the success of sales and marketing initiatives across key pillars.

  • Report on performance, providing actionable insights to improve strategy and execution.

  • Continuously optimize processes for greater efficiency and impact.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and the ability to craft compelling client materials, write engaging emails, and confidently lead client and sponsor-facing conversations.

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing management roles, ideally in sustainability professional services.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and context switch effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Versatility to seamlessly transition between independent, deep-focus work and collaborative, client-facing responsibilities.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to define, track, and report on key metrics for sales and marketing initiatives.

  • Ability and willingness to work in a fully remote setting with a professional setup, including dependable, fast internet connectivity to support regular video calls and good lighting

  • Availability to overlap with U.S. time zones for team collaboration and client meetings.

  • Comfortable and adaptable in collaborating with global coworkers and clients to complete tasks and projects across multiple time zones.

  • Demonstrated interest in The Carbonauts’ mission to build climate literate and engaged workforces.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in the sustainability field.

  • Expertise in digital and traditional marketing channels, including social media, events, and sponsorships.

  • Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles and demonstrated success managing sales-related activities in HubSpot (or other CRM).

  • Familiarity with AI tools for enhancing sales and marketing workflows, with an understanding of their capabilities and limitations.

  • Proven ability to design and execute marketing calendars aligned with strategic objectives and industry events.

  • Strong experience in building and nurturing partnerships and securing sponsorship opportunities for newsletters, events, and community initiatives.

  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Squarespace, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Cleverly.

  • Proven success in building revenue-generating community events and partnerships.

  • Track record of developing strategic partnerships and sponsorships that drive business growth.

Compensation

Pay is commensurate with experience and geographic region, with a base salary of $20,000–$30,000 USD per year, plus significant performance-based incentives.
