Working in partnership with utilities, governments, Indigenous Nations, and other industry partners we reduce energy poverty, accelerate decarbonization, and improve housing in traditionally underserved communities across Canada and the United States. Kambo delivers three in-house programs: Empower Me, Community Power, and the Home Upgrades Program.


Empower Me delivers multilingual education, support, and coaching services to ensure underrepresented communities have access to energy, climate, and home retrofit programs.


Community Power supports Indigenous Nations to build, renovate, and improve community housing.


Home Upgrades Program provides fully subsidized energy retrofits to improve affordability for households living in energy poverty.


About the Opportunity


Reporting to the Director of Partnerships & Growth, the Partnership Development Manager will nurture relationships with all levels of government and partners in the Western US region to ensure their needs are met while driving impact that aligns with their goals. The Partnership Development Manager will have a positive “can-do” attitude a collaborative team approach and understand what is needed to build and retain relationships. They will have an exceptionally high level of emotional intelligence, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be extremely organized and have an eye for detail. The Partnership Development Manager will work closely with Operations and Finance to foster client satisfaction consistently throughout the Western US region.


The Partnership Development Manager will be the external face for Kambo’s programs and services currently running in the Western US region, blending the responsibilities of an Account Manager for existing clients and a Business Development Manager for identifying and securing new partnerships.


Responsibilities


Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with serving as the primary point of contact for existing clients, and ensuring their needs and expectations are met
  • Manage contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring terms and deliverables are communicated to internal stakeholders, tracked and met over time
  • Oversee the successful implementation of programs and services with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with client goals
  • Coordinate and consolidate project information with internal stakeholders for client reporting purposes.
  • Report on project status and KPIs to project partners on an agreed cadence,
  • Identify growth opportunities with current partners for account expansion
  • Foster client satisfaction with the goal of contract renewal
  • Manage and record client and contract information in the appropriate systems
  • Develop and deliver presentations, proposals, and reports to sponsors, clients, and partners.


Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities with utilities, municipalities, and other stakeholders in the Western US region.
  • Develop and deliver compelling pitches and proposals to potential clients and partners.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities in energy efficiency and education.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance offerings and expand into new markets.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and community meetings to build visibility and credibility.


Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in a similar role working with public and private stakeholders.
  • Proven experience as a Partnership Development Manager, Sales Representative, Business Development Manager, Account Manager or in a similar client-facing role.
  • Must be a clear and compelling oral and written communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and writing proposals to win new business
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and a passion for client success.
  • A collaborative team player with a can-do attitude, and fueled a desire to promote social change


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity personally or professionally with energy efficiency, clean energy, climate change, and social justice issues or a willingness to learn.
