Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Ferry General Manager to oversee our ferry operations in Boston, MA.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee daily operations of ferry services, ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and motivate a team of maritime professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, to support and expand ferry services.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed.

  • The salary range for this opportunity is $150,000-$200,000.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ferry or maritime operations management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven record of managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Skills and Knowledge Required: 
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
  • Thorough knowledge of ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
  • Requires 3-5 years of recent and relevant direct experience managing all aspects of a Ferry service.
  • Prior experience working with collective bargaining agreement.
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments
  • Ability to build solid and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  • Ability to manage cost control and financial budget.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of technology, apps, Wi-Fi, and understanding of transportation technology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to detail.
