Job Description
As a principal consultant, you will contribute with your client relationship, leadership, and technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM’s business and client base, while networking with ERM's global water resources technical team to share multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional looking to advance their career with a global environmental leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use personal/professional contacts to develop client-facing engagements focusing on the Water Resources area, building a pipeline of opportunities, sales and backlog.
- Manage and mentor bright junior and mid-level colleagues to execute watershed/basin-wide studies in support of water resource management, including but not limited to, flood risk assessments, water balance/water audits, water stewardship, assessing and developing strategies and plans for water positivity for clients.
- Assist in the application of hydraulic, hydrologic and flood risk models to natural and urban watersheds.
- Use analysis, calculations and models to address impact, regulatory and design issues.
- Execute multiple projects within scope / schedule / budget expectations and ensure quality standards on deliverables.
- Mentor junior- and mid-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets in the water resources technical area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related field. Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will be considered. Educational background includes water resources, climate science, data analytics and geospatial analysis.
- 12-15 years of progressively increasing responsibilities, with business development being essential.
- Professional consulting background strongly preferred.
- Strong aptitude for and interest in problem solving, analytical thinking, and attention to details.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects in the field of water resources.
- Excellent writing, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, and “people” skills.
- Experience working or directing teams on a variety of models related to water quality (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWAT, FLO-2D, CE-QUAL-W2, WMS).
