Our Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) division plays a vital role in delivering high-impact transmission line projects across Australia. With recent tender successes, we are expanding our capabilities and seeking a seasoned Principal Transmission Line Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team.

Role Summary:
As a Principal Transmission Line Electrical Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Australia’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure. Leveraging your expertise in electrical engineering, you will lead the design and planning of transmission lines for new tenders and ongoing projects, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on pivotal energy infrastructure projects that contribute to a more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Led the electrical design for high-voltage transmission lines (66 kV to 500 kV) with a focus on safety, reliability, and innovation.
  • Provide expert input on concept designs, feasibility studies, and route planning to meet project and client needs.
  • Perform advanced electrical calculations, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and grounding design.
  • Support tendering processes by delivering optimized electrical designs aligned with ACCIONA’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, civil, environmental) to ensure cohesive and compliant project outcomes.
  • Oversee technical reviews, prepare comprehensive design documentation, and uphold quality assurance standards.
  • Utilize industry-standard software for electrical modeling and analysis to produce accurate and efficient designs.
  • Offer on-site technical expertise during project implementation to address and resolve design-related challenges.

Required Skills and Competencies

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience in the design of high-voltage transmission lines, particularly within the 66 kV to 500 kV range.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical engineering software for design and analysis (e.g., PLS-CADD, ETAP, or similar).
  • Proven track record of contributing to successful tenders and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A deep commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability in engineering practices.
