Graduate Engineer – Various roles

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Graduate Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

This role as Graduate Engineer forms an integral part of the team, responsible for providing support to the broader team in various tasks.

Job Description

We are seeking talented, motivated, and innovative Graduates to join our dynamic and high-performing Signalling team in Brisbane for 2025!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Assist Senior Engineers in planning, designing, and executing engineering projects.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data to support engineering decisions and project outcomes.
  • Technical Research: Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to ensure our engineering solutions are cutting-edge.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, and drawings.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and solve engineering problems to improve processes and product quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.


We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a degree or postgraduate degree (Honours or Masters) in disciplines relevant to Rail. In particular we will be looking for the following disciplines:
    • Software Engineering,
    • Electrical Engineering,
    • Mechatronics Engineering,
    • Business, Finance or related degrees welcome for Project roles.
  • Strong well-rounded individuals with the potential to be a leader
  • A Team player who thrives in multicultural environments
  • Who contributes to their community
  • Recent graduates with less than 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Has completed vacation work
  • Is interested in the rail industry and has a strong desire to learn and grow professionally
  •  Has the relevant work rights to live and work full-time in Australia
