The opportunity

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.  

In this role you will be a part of the HVDC Products Organization (Valves) and the Global Product Support team.

As a Sustainability Lead, you will ensure that the product complies with all relevant laws and regulations while integrating and drive sustainability principles into the HVDC Products organisation. You will cultivate and maintain collaboration with sustainability specialist across the organization.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Promote sustainability and environmental awareness across the team

  • Breakdown and ensure compliance with HVDC Sustainability KPIs

  • Drive and addressing emerging challenges by taking ownership of HVDC Products Sustainability roadmap (focused on material related topics, EoL and LCA among all)

  • Support business needs related to sustainability, including tenders, project deliveries and internal projects

  • Analyze and monitor sustainability performance, report to leadership, and drive implementation

Your background

  • You have a Degree Engineering in Material Science or similar.

  • You have experience in conducting and analyzing LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)

  • Familiar with Eco design principles and EoL(End of Life) management

  • Strong understanding of sustainability KPIs, ability to track progress, drive change and identify improvements areas

  • Passion for sustainability and in making sustainability happen in business as well as having the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. 

  • You are communicative and outgoing, as the position requires interaction with a wide variety of stakeholders and functions. 

  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish skills are a merit.
