To develop, construct and operate our offshore wind farms, we are looking for a Foundation package project design Engineer.
YOUR ROLE
As a Foundation Project Design Engineer, you will reinforce a pool of engineers specialized in engineering and designing (floating) offshore wind substructures. Foundations is part of our multi-disciplinary Technology team responsible for developing and constructing offshore wind farms. We ensure to select the best possible foundation types and take them forward from design towards installation before handing them over to our Operation and Maintenance teams.
As Foundation Project Design Engineer, you will:
· create conceptual and basic designs of the overall wind farm (bottom fix and floating) jointly with other wind farm disciplines.
· Assemble and scrutinize all design input data and boundary conditions, in collaboration with the other disciples. Interface with other project packages and departments
· Review scope and Employer Requirements for contracts with external design houses.
· Assist in running the selection process for design consultants, fabrication, and installation contractors.
· Review and scrutinize the 3rd party design, making sure this is done according to the state of the art.
· Perform various checks and parallel calculations of the design.
· follow up fabrication and installation of the foundations linking back to the design.
· Keep track of and implementation lessons learned.
· assess and keep track of novel technologies and concepts.
· Help develop internal engineering tools and routines.
· regularly travel for (offshore) site visits and meetings
YOUR PROFILE
· Master’s degree in engineering (offshore structural, offshore engineering, or naval architecture)
· Solid Academic degree in the field of offshore wind (bottom fixed/floating)
· Ability to work independently and strong problem-solving attitude.
· Pro-active mentality, keeping track of and pushing the state-of-the-art.
· You are driven, pragmatic and solution oriented.
· You are a team player and have the necessary communication skills.
· Ability to manage own workload and meet demanding timescales.
· You are fluent in English
· Software knowledge in MS Office, coding skills in MATLAB, python
· Knowledge of design software is a plus
