Job Description
The Director is expected to play a pivotal role model to raise the profile of Ramboll in Malaysia and to introduce new clients and strengthen existing clients into the business unit.
The Director plays a key role is in Malaysia management team alongside Singapore management team. To supports delivery of the strategy and annual business plan for the unit in line with the overall priorities for the Ramboll Buildings and wider activities in APAC, provide leadership to employees.
The Director is expected to act as a role model on technical competence, implementation of strong processes, professional governance, and a high-performance culture and excel in project deliveries for the local teams. The Director generates and support new business opportunities. The Director is also expected to work with other markets leadership in Malaysia and members of the group to act as part of APAC team.
The Director will adopt and contribute to a common project acquisition and technical delivery method for the spearhead to be employed within APAC.
Strategic areas of responsibility
- The director plats a strategic role that helps tie together Design Excellence, Digitalisation, and Sustainability. The key purpose is to enable and ensure that Buildings is in the forefront of Design Excellence with regards to how we work and what we deliver.
- The director is expected to formulate the strategies to differentiate Ramboll鈥檚 brand and market the differentiation and values which Ramboll could bring to the projects inline with the overall Ramboll APAC Buildings strategies & priorities.
Operational areas of responsibility, but is not limited to:
- Day to day operation in Malaysia office.
- Staying informed about industry trends, start-ups, competitors etc.
- keeping track of what is going on across Buildings Malaysia by staying in contact with relevant people.
- Expected to travel within Peninsula Malaysia, and East Malysia.
Commercial leadership
- The director must have a commercial mindset and help to increase profit in projects. The aim is to bring down the cost of delivery and generate new revenue streams.
- Support and drive the technical excellence initiatives including development initiatives.

- Lead and be responsible for the design and technical output as for a portfolio of projects covering all aspects including:
- Technical solutions
- Client satisfaction
- Project quality
Lead and participate in:
- Preparing client/project proposals
- Negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees
- Structuring project teams from internal and external resources
- Procuring project resources
- Planning projects
- Support preparation and execution of annual business plan for Buildings Malaysia
- Grow the Ramboll Buildings Malaysia business and strengthen the Ramboll brand.
- Financial performance of the business
- Undertake other management / leadership tasks that may be assigned by the management from time to time.
KPI Metrics
- The specific targets will be agreed in the annual PDP.
- In the beginning the KPI鈥檚 should be about setting up the structure around the role.
- Growth in revenue and profitability of Ramboll projects in the Business unit.
- Growth in revenue and profitability of key clients (identified in annual business plan)
- Sales forecasts & win-rate based on the funnel
- Overall Profitability (as measured by gross EBITA margin) -Malaysia Business Unit.
- Project Leadership
- Client satisfaction score (CSS)
- Personal & Team billing ratio
- Team project delivery
