ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of IT fulfills a hands-on, leadership role with responsibility for both strategic and tactical operations of organization-wide information technology functions as well as managing team members. You will lead an almost 100% SaaS-based environment that encounters low outages and maintains high satisfaction from user groups, while leading software-related process improvement initiatives across the company.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the IT department’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing the allocation of resources. Determine the goals of IT in alignment with business objectives and provide technical leadership and project management.
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices, to include architecture, security, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance and related standards.
- Operationalize a security and privacy control framework based on applicable regulatory controls, privacy/security authorities, and best practices. Ensure IT practices protect company information, mitigate risk, prevent cyber threats, and monitor/resolve any security concerns or breaches.
- Lead and direct security projects including internal and external security risk assessments as well as assess security threats and vulnerabilities in order to ensure appropriate avoidance and mitigation strategies.
- Manage the deployment, maintenance, development, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Plan and oversee IT-related activities as well as provide guidance and support for daily operational activities. Oversee delivery of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
- Lead cross-functional data visualization and reporting initiatives, while maintaining exceptional data integrity.
- Responsible for aspects of hiring, training, and developing employees, as well as managing the department’s budget.
- Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
- Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology, including 4 years of leadership experience in an information technology environment.
- Technology: High level of proficiency with Microsoft technologies like 365 and Azure, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
- Experience developing and maintaining APIs for data pipelining and integration.
- Preferred experience using technologies like Quickbase and Netsuite, or other accounting and document management related software.
- Preferred experience using Power BI or Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
- Skills/Attributes:
- Ability to develop and implement strategic vision across a variety of IT domains, including help desk, system administration, security, software engineering, GIS, and business analytics.
- Strong grasp of agile project management methodologies.
- Learn and understand technologies that might be unfamiliar.
- Ability to partner with the business to understand requirements, develop solutions, and coordinate internal IT resources to implement and maintain.
- Demonstrated ability to lead highly effective teams, both internally and externally.
- Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
