We are now looking for a Sales Manager focusing on retrofit and newbuilding business to join our Danish sales organisation and a key person to drive growth for our Danish owners and designers. The preferred location for this position is Copenhagen, Denmark

 

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting customers promoting innovative products to help them optimise operations of the equipment. Besides maintaining high operational performance for our customers, you will be part of changing the future for our customers, looking into future fuels and add-on solutions, to decrease emissions, and enhance performance.

As Sales Manager Newbuilding & Retrofits, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Actively drive the current and future decarbonisation agenda – shaping the market in Denmark.
  • Take responsibility for the development, for the owners and designers.
  • Ensure that the proposed solution fulfils customer requirements and is technically feasible.
  • Support the global Wärtsilä network and business unit peers in optimising sales.
  • Lead sales projects and negotiate contracts technically and commercially for Newbuilds, Retrofits, Upgrades in assigned territory.
  • Actively promote strategic Marine initiatives in the market by contributing at conferences, webinars, exhibitions, and lobby events.
  • Represent Wärtsilä in local associations such as technical seminars on request.
  • Align above activities with General Manager Sales Denmark

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • 5+ years’ experience from B2B sales, Business Development, Project Sales or Sales Account Management.
  • Strong technical education/background or experience from the industry is a must such as marine engineering or similar.
  • Superb understanding of electrical installations, such as hybrid electric installations & engine / propulsion technology.
  • Experience from new building projects / retrofit building projects.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a strong can-do attitude.
  • Eager to grow the business, close the deals and grow the market share.
  • Systematic and organised approach to work.
  • Being able to find or develop the right solution for the customer.
  • Excellent communication skills in Danish & English.

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
