Apollo Insurance Solutions Group (“ISG”) seeks a Senior Investment Operations professional for its El Segundo based headquarters.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations professional to work in the investment management business in a fast-paced environment that provides significant opportunity for learning and growth.

 

Seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in accounting and/or investment management. A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee the booking and accounting impact for various investment instruments, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, and mortgage investments.

  • Collaborate with investment managers on investment-related accounting matters, including valuation and performance reporting.

  • Review daily holding reconciliations between investment accounting subledgers to custodian records.

  • Enhance and maintain a runbook of daily and monthly activity and where necessary provide leadership and direction to ensure clear task assignment, deliverable responsibility, control execution and coordination with dependent processes.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness of operational procedures.

  • Provide ongoing support to trade operations, clients, front office teams, and other stakeholders.

  • Communicate effectively. Participate in meetings and presentations related to investment accounting matters.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.

  • Work effectively with the Operations Managers and provide leadership in supporting large scale projects and initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance

  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA) preferred but not required.

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience working in SOC1, NAIC, and SEC regulated environments.

  • Knowledge of Fixed Income, Structured Products, Derivatives, Mortgage Loans and/or Alternative Investments.

  • Demonstrated process orientation and problem-solving skills.

  • A strong detailed orientation.  

  • Ability to work effectively on cross functional teams/projects.  

Pay Range

$110,000 – $140,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
