Job Description

Project:
Acciona has been awarded the Design & Construct contract for the Singleton Bypass. This major project will see construction of 8km of single lane highway with approximately 2.5 km of bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections. This diverse and challenging project has a 2 year construction program ensuring longevity in your role and presenting opportunities to grow within the business.

Role:
The Project Planner is responsible for producing program for the project management, design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning activities for mechanical construction projects in the manufacturing and infrastructure fields. This role encompasses all phases of the project, including tender, delivery, and completion. The Project Planner will also be involved in cyclical scheduling, reviewing project progress against the baseline programme, and reporting as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce small to medium project tender and master construction work breakdown structures and program developed from "first principles" using the project scope of works, contract, design documentation, and project delivery strategies, in collaboration with the project commercial, design, and construction teams.

  • Assist in the production of large or complex project tenders and master construction work breakdown structures and program.

  • Coordinate inputs and liaise with all stakeholders during the development of project program.

  • Assign plant, labour, and materials resources into the project program.

  • Convert tender/bid program into the contract master program.

  • Input into the basis of the program, the program management plan, and other program-supporting documentation and management plans.

  • Assist with the pursuit of formal program acceptance, baseline assignment, and baseline management with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identify time risk and time opportunities and assist with project schedule risk analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) and the allocation of time contingency into master program.

  • Produce periodical progress updates and reporting on the project program in consultation with the relevant stakeholders

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree or construction management-related discipline (preferred) or a trade background with relevant vocational training in planning and scheduling.

  • Membership of a project management association and/or a demonstrable understanding of key project management principles, including risk and change management.

  • Construction 'White Card'.

  • Computer literate and experienced in using industry-standard planning & scheduling tools (Oracle Primavera P6 / Powerproject / MS Project) and other related software applications (QSRA / Dashboard Reporting / MS Office / Visio / CAD / 3D or 4D BIM etc.).

  • Commercial acumen and knowledge of basic industry standard forms of contract and contract administration.

  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrated project planning & scheduling site-based experience.
