Your Role & Mission - We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to guide and inspire our feature teams in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical expertise with people management while building a platform that helps enterprises reduce their carbon footprint.

Your tasks

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver features and improvements for our platform

  • Provide architectural direction and hands-on coding support, ensuring best practices in code quality, scalability, and maintainability

  • Work closely with product managers, product designers, and other engineering leads to prioritize and define technical requirements for features

  • Oversee the development of features using modern technologies, with expertise in JavaScript-based (React, Node.js) ecosystem

  • Leverage your experience with SaaS platforms to ensure robust, secure, and scalable software delivery

  • Manage timelines, resource planning, and technical risks while ensuring on-time delivery of features in coordination with our project manager

  • Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders about progress, challenges, and opportunities

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by refining workflows and processes and sharing best practices

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and developing engineering talent to scale the team

Your profile

  • You have collected extensive professional experience in software development including a first experience in a leadership role guiding feature or product teams

  • Strong expertise and technical proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript working with React, Node.js, and modern frontend/backend frameworks

  • Proven experience building, scaling, and maintaining SaaS products, with an understanding of multi-tenancy, performance optimization, and security.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a great advantage

  • A track record of mentoring and managing engineers, fostering a positive team culture, and driving high performance.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions

  • You rely on solid communication skills and you speak English at a fluent level

  • You are a hands-on and supportive team leader with a strong work ethic, eager to grow and develop your team

  • You are passionate about business sustainability, carbon emissions management, and climate tech in alignment with Carbmee’s mission and vision

  • You are excited to join our diverse and international team in Berlin or able to travel to our Berlin office on a regular basis
