Main purpose of position:

We are looking for a Site Manager, for a 103MW/412 MWh Solar PV Plant project, located close to the town of Ceres, in Westen Cape. The project consists of both 3 x PV (Solar Park) and HV (120kV & 33kV grid connection infrastructure) related construction works. As the Site Manager, you will be directly responsible for all activities related to on-site project construction activities, and the overall successful completion of the project’s construction phase and will report to the Construction Manager. The project is estimated to be completed within 4 months of commencement. Will be in line to start a new project in Klerksdorp 1 plus year after completion of Ceres.

 

Main Responsibilities (not limited to) of the Site Manager:

  • Overall management of all site construction and related activities
  • Ensure project compliance to the Project Management Plan
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting of all Sub-Contractors’ on-site performance
  • Ensure all site personnel and sub-contractors’ compliance to all contractual requirements and specifications into. Progress/schedule, budget, quality, HSSE requirements, site-related activities etc. and raise any non-compliances to the Construction Manager and Project Manager
  • Review and enforce sub-contractors’ method statements and templates for the different site activities. Assist their teams during approval phases and ensure that the documentation is available and approved before any activities commence
  • Compile weekly and Monthly Construction reports based on on-site progress
  • Ensure on-site risk management and risk mitigation process are being enforced/complied with.
  • Enforce and monitor site access control
  • Interface with all relevant Stakeholders on a day-to-day basis ito hosting (on site), electronic communications, meetings etc.
  • Enforce and monitor all safety regulations and SHE spec.

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Formal Qualification (Construction, Engineering, Project Management, etc) relevant to the position
  • 10+ years relevant on-site construction management experience involving civil, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning activities on PV Plants or similar (PV experience preferred) – proven track record
  • An excellent knowledge of MS Office / Computer skills
  • Sound understanding of multi-cultural environments
  • Fluent both written and spoken in English
  • Availability for frequent travels – will be site based
  • Knowledge of MS Projects, Primavera & Commissioning procedures
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Valid Passport
  • No prior criminal record
