Principle Pressure Systems Engineer  

Location: Tashkent, Karshi - Uzbekistan.

Scope: Principal Pressure Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting and resolving technical issues escalated from the various operating facilities within country. Will provide direct support to the on-site Mechanical Integrity team and Plant Management on a variety of activities ranging from troubleshooting, inspection, technical evaluations, equipment assessments & repair, fitness for service evaluations and design engineering reviews.

As the Principal Pressure Systems Engineer you will:

  • Provide mechanical equipment evaluations and technical assessments to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment.
  • Assess and approve proposals for repairs and modification to pressure systems equipment. This includes completing technical assessments, developing repair procedures & inspection plans and instruction on inspection types and methods.
  • Provide technical support for development, execution, and assessment of complex inspection activities.  This includes creating inspection scope packages and when necessary, traveling to the field to support execution.
  • Perform fitness-for-service assessments to industry standard (e.g. API 579) for deteriorated, damaged or repaired equipment.
  • Participate in risk-based inspection (RBI) programs, and in developing the mechanical integrity program for equipment. Advise on effective inspection techniques and methods, metallurgical challenges/limitations and deterioration/degradation mechanisms specific to technology and process service.
  • Develop end of life assessment strategies and provide recommendations to support repair / replace, repair / redesign, and make / buy decisions.
  • Participate in equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Provide recommendations and corrective actions to avoid early or repetitive failure of equipment.

You will have:
 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive and relevant experience in industries such as power, chemical, steel, oil and gas.
     
  • Broad technical and operations experience in pressure equipment which includes reformers, boilers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, warm and cryogenic pressure vessels.
  • A good understanding of mechanical design and process technology is essential
  • Knowledge  of various materials & deterioration mechanisms &  inspection strategies
     
  • Extensive experience working with an oil and gas company (specific experience on Pressure Systems with Petrol Chem / Air Separation).

  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English across all levels. Another spoken language – Russian -  would be an advantage.
