Consulting Associate

  • Our Transactions and Private Market Advisory team is experiencing significant growth, and we are seeking individuals to deliver best-in-class services to meet this demand.

  • Consulting Associates in our team work on a wide range of strategic, operational and buy side/sell side engagements for corporate clients, private market investors and their portfolio companies. You work will involve value creation identification, green growth strategy, decarbonization planning and target setting, human rights advisory, supply chain and procurement advisory as well as identifying EHS / ESG risks, liabilities and opportunities from both a financial and reputational perspective. 

You will assist on delivery of projects as well as supporting:

  • Providing guidance on strategic ESG and EHS related matters leveraging our global pool of subject matter experts. 

  • Delivery of our client’s post-investment portfolio company ESG program, working alongside our clients’ ESG, investment, operating teams, and portfolio company management teams,

  • Performing due diligence to evaluate company EHS / ESG performance on governance, compliance, and liability management. 

  • Designing and executing post-investment value creation plans and work with client teams to ensure completion of objectives in the context of their broader portfolio and firm-level ESG goals and internal ESG operating capabilities.

  • Providing insights, guidance and support to clients and portfolio company management on how to integrate ESG and impact into broader business practices and business models to ensure long-term sustainable business value creation.

  • Develop repeatable processes, frameworks, toolkits, assessment scorecards and other materials for our clients and support their deployment across investment portfolios.

  • Ensure ESG interventions and reporting are completed for our clients’ portfolio companies, in line with how our clients work with advisors in a post-investment value creation context.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge frameworks and regulatory drivers including, TCFD, EU Green deal components (SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and CSRD), along with the ESG Data Convergence Initiative, IRIS+, The Impact Management Project, and the Operating Principles for Impact Management.

  • Ensure Client satisfaction through project communications & engagement, quality of deliverables produced, translating complex technical topics into commercial opinions and potential opportunities..

About yourself:

  • Previous experience with climate change aspects including GHG assessments, Science-Based Targets, net zero strategy and decarbonization roadmaps is desirable but not required.

  • Have an appreciation of broader macro sustainability / ESG topics as they relate to companies in the real-economy and investment community, and how these may translate into topics of relevance during a transaction (e.g., ESG Governance, importance of Climate Strategy and decarbonization, social (Human Rights), EU Green Deal, among others). 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how EHS / ESG due diligence findings are used by clients, and the interaction with other advisors and workstreams (e.g. financial, legal, and commercial due diligence, investment banks). 

  • Be agile and flexible in your working style to adapt to the needs of transactions
