About the Opportunity 

Are you passionate about tackling climate challenges and driving sustainability solutions? As a Facilities Equipment Analyst, in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to support sustainability efforts across companywide programs and practices with Edmonds School District. This is a full-time, onsite position. 

In this role, you’ll assist in achieving compliance with the Washington Clean Buildings Act, and District energy goals. The role will include the completion of a new asset management system, gather and input data on the district's inventory of energy-using equipment and systems. 

This position presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by identifying energy-saving solutions for the school district. Your work will enhance the comfort of students and staff while deepening your hands-on understanding of building systems and equipment. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to expand your professional skills, grow your network, and play a key role in advancing Edmonds School District's sustainability goals.

About Our Partner: Edmonds School District

The Edmonds School District is located in south Snohomish County with 35 schools that cover approximately 36 square miles within the communities of Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway, and portions of unincorporated Snohomish County and serve over 20,000 students and 4,000 staff.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include:

  • Data entry, tracking, & graphical analysis for electrical, gas, and water utility usage.

  • Data input into asset management software.

  • Coordination and analysis of new asset management strategies.

  • Building energy use tracking and analysis.

  • Grant and funding discovery and application.

  • Assist with reporting and compliance for Utility and Government programs such as PUD / PSE / Clean Buildings Act / State programs and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction.

Projects may include:

  • Clean Buildings Act application, including EUI compliance & Alternative compliance.

  • Site-specific O&Ms: Asset management system creation and data input.

  • Utility monitoring and Building controls & DDC Analysis.

  • Support with planned HVAC retrofits and improvements.

  • Support with planned Lighting retrofits and improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s level coursework in engineering, design, energy systems or resource management preferred.

  • Related experience in fields related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and data analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments, make independent judgments and/or decisions, and discern when action at a higher level is required.

  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects and maintain an organized and well-communicated workflow.

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to be available on-site 5 days per week.

  • Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).

  • May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Has a deep passion for sustainability, especially climate resilience, with the practical skills and abilities to affect change in complex systems.

  • Masters level coursework or degree in energy systems or resource management.

  • Enjoys problem definition and solution through both data analysis and interpersonal communication.
