Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.You will become part of our REC UK buildings team, collaborating with a close-knit team of Public Health Engineers both in the UK and India, specialising in the design of Water Services, Above and Below Ground Drainage and Fire Suppression systems.In your role, you will work across multiple sectors across the globe – from Antarctic Research Outposts to high-rise buildings to world leading hospitals. Based out of one of the regional offices, travel will be expected on occasion, to fulfil the needs of the projects you will be working on.  You will be working with a multi-disciplinary UK Buildings Team including including Structures, Mechanical &amp; Electrical Engineering, Facades and Acoustics. Your project teams may be as large as 30 people or as intimate as 2 or 3. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:<ul><li>Calculation of Water Demand</li><li>Calculation of Hot &amp; Cold Water (including circulation), flow calculation, calculations, distribution systems (sizing, valves, pumps etc.), water heating systems, water storage systems</li><li>Design of drainage system in the buildings gravity &amp; pumped solutions.</li><li>Design and Calculation of Hot water distribution System in the Building: Distribution pipes, Pumps, Heat exchangers, Material selection, Flow calculations, Pressure calculation, Pipe sizing, Control valves, stop valves, pipe insulation.</li><li>Design and Calculation of Cold System in the Building: Distribution pipes, Pumps,Mixing loops, Material selection, Flow calculations, Pressure calculation, Pipe sizing, Control valves, stop valves, pipe insulation</li><li>Design of water purification plant, including filtration, softening plus chlorination.</li><li>Design and Calculation of Fire Water in the Building : Automatic sprinkler systems design, Fire hoses, Wet &amp; Dry Risers.</li><li>Grey / Black Water recycling system/plant design.</li><li>Borehole water system design.</li><li>Rainwater Design – Gravity and Siphonic</li><li>Plan, undertake, coordinate, and monitor work on your projects</li><li>Contribute to the overall design and delivery of projects, as a Public Health Engineer.</li><li>Identify opportunities for digital automation, optimisation of building systems, interfaces and/or their component parts.</li><li>Monitor the implementation of design throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial concepts to completion.</li><li>Liaise and interact with other UK Building Services teams</li><li>Deliver projects from a wide range of sectors.</li><li>Help manage technical risk, be aware of our scope of services and assist where necessary in fee proposals and resourcing.</li><li>Provide pastoral care for the younger generation of Public Health Engineers in your local office.</li><li>Proactively pursue continuous professional development including working towards chartership with a recognised institution, as well as promoting the field of Public Heath</li></ul> About youFrom the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Must possess professional English language skills (written and verbal). Should be able to communicate clearly with drafting team by sketches. Should be able to work in a team and support, mentor and develop junior engineers.
