About the Role
This is a career-defining opportunity to play a crucial role in a hyper-scale AI company that is transforming the future of autonomous systems, energy, and the built environment.
As the Digital Twin AI Framework Engineer, you will play a foundational role in our Digital Twins team in developing the descriptive language for Quantum.
Quantum is a new digital twin-AI standard for defining autonomous systems. While other digital twin technologies provide labels for system components, Quantum takes digital twins further by defining both the existential nature of components and the relationships between them. By defining systems as digital twins in the form of a heterogeneous graph network, systems can become inference-able, introspect-able, and action-able. Learn more about Quantum here.
What you’ll do
Develop Quantum Digital Twins: Develop and evolve the Quantum digital twin object model, ontology, and API.
Advance the Quantum Knowability Model: Develop the Quantum Knowability Model — evolve the formal proofs of digital twin definitions, systems, events, and compositional stage by which the formalisms can be known.
Support the AI inferencing framework: Support the development of the digital twin AI inferencing framework and the accelerator compute team.
Human-centered ontological design: Advocate for human-centered UX/UI at every stage of ontology development.
Iterate on and evolve Quantum: Apply systems theory and design processes throughout the Quantum evolution process, always collecting feedback and improving the language.
Collaborate across teams: Collaborate and coordinate with Quantum working groups including: formal methods, AI, compute, physics, geometry, compiler, and semantic teams, as well as with other Quantum partners to address their feedback and incorporate their needs.
What you’ll bring
If your experience does not meet all our posted requirements below, we’d still love to hear from you. We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about understanding people, committed to lifelong learning, and driven by the love of what they do. If that’s you, please apply!
You must have
Proven experience:
A MS/PhD in CS/CE/EE/Mathematics, information science, computer science, computational linguistics, computational physiology, human comfort, physics, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in developing mappings and transformation processes to take data from a relational paradigm into a knowledge graph environment.
Enthusiasm for human-centered API design and object model design.
Demonstrated expertise in multi-disciplinary system modeling.
Strong theoretical background in systems theory and graph theory.
Strong programming and software architecture skills (C++, Swift, Rust, etc).
Exceptional communication skills: Extraordinary teammate with excellent interpersonal skills
Organized and strategic: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Collaborative mindset: Open to feedback and committed to a continuous improvement process.
Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, eager to learn, iterate, and innovate.
Problem solving: You own this role. When issues arise, be the empowered force that solves them, rolling-up.
You should have
Strong experience with/in:
Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
Machine learning and AI
Reasoning and inferencing
Working with data sterilization formats (GraphQL, ODATA, XML, JSON)
Driving standard adoption
Familiarity with:
3D model and BIM formats (gbXML, epJSON, IFC, USD, gITF, etc)
Interest in digital twins: Interest in becoming a technical and industry expert in digital twins
It’s helpful to have
Experience with:
Semantic modeling (RDF, OWL, SPARQL)
Differentiable programming
Numerical methods and graph computing
Swift programming language
Building science fundamentals: A fundamental understanding of building energy, HVAC systems, and/or electromechanical systems.
Knowledge of current semantic and digital twin research: Well-informed in the current market of semantic and digital twin research (Haystack, Brick, DTDL, Building Ontology, SAREF, OneM2M, Matter, W3C Web of Things, Omniverse etc).
Interest in energy and control systems: Interest in energy systems or mechanical-electrical control.
