As the Head of Procurement at TOMRA Food, you will lead the global vision and management of procurement commodities, directing team members to develop procurement strategies, optimize costs, and build strategic supplier relationships.

You will achieve operational performance goals by collaborating with internal and external partners to execute global purchasing and operations strategies aligned with TOMRA’s objectives.

Your responsibilities include managing new product sourcing strategies, analyzing insourcing vs. outsourcing opportunities, handling critical engineering change requests and ensuring optimal flow of materials between TOMRA sites.

You will also innovate and implement strategic solutions, align with cross-commodity vendors and key suppliers, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal partners to meet TOMRA’s purchasing needs.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train and recruit the strategic sourcing team globally
  • Build an agile, resilient, start-up-like innovative environment and culture.
  • Offer and support novel ideas, fostering a climate of experimentation, introducing new perspectives, technologies and methods 
  • Ensure all team members have clear expectations, including objectives, regular reviews and feedback 
  • Develop clear career pathways, that excite, provide clarity and support the attracting and retaining of top talent 
  • Communicate appropriately on a regular basis to ensure the right people have the right information at the right time 
  • Facilitate and support the ongoing training and development of employees to ensure knowledge is grown and retained 
  • Recognize the contribution of individuals and ensure any deviations are managed in a timely manner 
  • Actively work to improve our engagement of the site teams 
  • Ensure team administrative processes are met with expected accuracy and timeliness  
  • Connect with TOMRA Recycling and TOMRA Collection Strategic Sourcing teams to find synergies. 
  • Provide guidance and support for the regional sales and service teams on supply chain topics.

Sourcing and Policies

  • Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review strategies, and identify cost-saving and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure standards, controls, policies, procedures, and performance metrics are created and executed within the procurement teams, adhering to ethical standards.
  • Establish a global and regional supply base, leading supplier management to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Source high-quality items enterprise-wide and achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Ensure transparency and mitigate liabilities through consistent contract management compliant with company policies and regulations.
  • Reduce supply risk and drive value creation by forming multidisciplinary teams and involving suppliers early in the supply chain and product development process.

Strategy

  • Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across all commodities.
  • Update strategies and activities based on market conditions.
  • Build market intelligence within the Commodity Management team to support strategy development.
  • Analyze market and delivery trends in purchasing technologies and processes.
  • Define strategies for critical or complex commodities.
  • Streamline purchasing operations with well-defined processes across the supply chain.
  • Act as an escalation point for severe purchase and supply chain issues.
