Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated CMM Programmer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.
Accountabilities:
Inspects Commercial off the Shelf items (COTS), electronic assemblies, castings & machined components. Inspects for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, workmanship, compliance with Hitachi drawings and technical specifications.
Creates Quality Notifications (QN), Quarantines Non-Conforming product to the appropriate area & distributes the QN via email to the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer for resolution.
Conducts First Article Inspections (FAI), records findings on the associated forms & makes entries on the FAI SharePoint site.
Records inspection results in via SAP
Assists in gathering department assets for weekly calibration
Required skills/experience:
HS diploma (or equivalent) plus 3+ years of incoming inspection experience or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
CMM experience with PC-DMIS Software (CAD & Non-CAD)
Experience using common measuring tools such as micrometres, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, Shadowgraph, thread gages & hardness tester
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing
Proficient use of Microsoft office suite: Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong oral and written & communication skills to clearly present data from findings
Able to make decisions regarding product acceptance utilizing product documentation and company workmanship criteria
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with stakeholders
Self-motivated nature, able to work effectively with minimum close supervision
